Our Story
Left By West is the creative endeavor of Zach and Meg Hixson, a creative duo with different but complementary skills. Zach is a gifted artist, maker and dreamer, while Meg is a listener, a researcher and an avid collector of beautiful things.
Their paths crossed in late 2009, and from the start, they knew they had found something special together. It wasn't until a drive through the Willamette Valley in 2011, however, that they discovered the place they wanted to call home: McMinnville, a small town that captured their hearts with its friendly locals, great food, and delicious wine.
Over a decade later, Zach still finds inspiration in the beautiful back roads of the area, where he creates stunning paintings that capture the essence of the region. Meg, meanwhile, has always quietly harbored a dream of owning her own shop, and in 2021 the stars aligned to make that dream a reality.
Left By West is the result of Zach’s creativity and Meg’s vision: a calming retreat from the hustle and bustle of daily life, providing a welcoming space that encourages guests to take a beat to appreciate and savor the moments that make up our everyday lives; A hand picked, thoughtfully curated selection that highlights the beauty and creativity of artisans and makers from around the world.
